Diane does not disapppoint

Diane Kruger has been a red carpet staple recently. Well, you can't blame the girl since she has impeccable style. At 34 years young, her outfit choices are elegant and classic but will never fail to make a stunning statement. No wonder top designer houses couldn't get enough of this German beauty.

Just some of my favorite looks of her over the last few years.

Reliable Flats

We have these flats to rely on..

      - days that we decide to rest our heels
      - when the dress calls for nothing but nude sandals
      - travelling in style
      - moments when studs, lace, and other embellishments work nicer on flats; or
      - subdued glamour and stylish comfort

Erika and Marga

Little White Dress

The Inspiration
Stella McCartney, Resort 2011

It's mandatory to get a 'lil white dress for the summer. It is the ultimate statement that takes very little effort to pull of. Most of the time you just want to wear it with your reliable nude sandals (or heels!) and those special occasions when a the right pop of color from your clutch or scarf is needed.

It's clean and chic. Most importantly, it's a classic.

Closet Essentials

Ladies, trust me on this one. You definitely have to have these. And yes, you should invest on these key pieces too. Not only do you need them to complete an outfit but they will also be your go-to clothes on days that inspiration does not strike so hard. Just like a LBD, every piece on the list is also timeless.

1. White shirt or tank

Mine are mostly from Topshop since I prefer the not-so-stretchy material and the length of course!

2. White crisp button down shirt

UPDATE: The higher, the better?

UPDATE: Check out the photos below from the most recent Salvatore Ferragamo Fall collection

I am not talking about heels here ladies. What really got my attention are the above-the-thigh high front slits of the skirts from the Fall 2011 collections. They seem to really work on those tulip skirts! It just feels so sexy yet feminine. Just gives you the right kind of Ooomph I suppose.

My favorite is when Christian Siriano (if you remember him as the winner of Project Runway) showcased this long tulip skirt together with other breathtaking pieces in black.

On the other hand, Preen reminded us that we should never be afraid of color. Several pieces will definitely turn those heads to your legs!

Even the long skirts get those high slits too! Jason Wu showed us how.

Other pieces from Diane Von Furstenberg, Altuzarra, and Tommy Hilfiger have cut those slits just right for those with a more conservative liking.

Check out some photos from The Front Row / Salvatore Ferragamo. Photos taken by Garance from the runway and she posted them in black & white.

So, will these be a Hit or a Miss?

XOXO,
Marga

P.S.
Kirsten Dunst and Chloe Sevigny were spotted last month wearing similar cuts from Rodarte Spring 2011!

Spotted!

I have developed a certain penchant for polka dots and it was not until recently that I realized this.

As always, it started from one dress and a top and now it feels like I have a small collection growing. The sheer long sleeved top (in photo) and the mini polka dots Sunday dress are my favorites. The red dress was worn during the new year's celebration for double the luck! I cannot exactly explain it but there's this giddy feeling I get whenever I see these prints on the rack. It could be that same feeling when I was younger and anything pink just excites me. For some reason I just get drawn to them and feel like I have to have them. It actually sounds silly but wearing these prints simply makes me feel glad. I believe its still a long haul before I need an intervention but of course I would love to have more Polka (dots)!

What's your feel-good-print?

XOXO,
Marga

P.S.

I think Marga is right on the "dot" with this trend especially after Miu Miu came out with a predominantly "spotted" line for their 2011 Resort.
