Happy birthday Paul & Joe!

Paul & Joe Philippines turns 4!

I never used make-up 'til I met Paul & Joe. Yes, you read it right, I never learned how to wear foundation, keep a compact powder or apply blush until four years ago. Well, with very sensitive skin, I kept a very simple beauty regimen - cleanse and moisturize. For almost ten years now, sentiments of fear, worry, and caution take over trying new beauty products. Luckily, I found this French-Japanese or it found me. Trust me,  it can be love at first sight.

Daily Source of Inspiration: H&M Spring 2011 with Giselle Bundchen

As if this new mommy hasn't given birth, here she is strutting her stuff in H&M's New 2011 Spring Campaign.

The looks just made me we want to try the peasant look for a more "girl next door" feel.

The look screams boho and I like how flowy and easy going it feels. It looks so comfrotable too. I guess the challenge here is looking more of summer boho than of just plain sloppy!

This reminds me of the Mango look several seasons ago with Scarlet Johansen. A long floral maxi dress in a flowy fabric with an abundance of bangles, baubles and accessories!

I really like the casual cool look of this particular one. it's time to bring the white jeans back!

Actually liking the style but the print is a little too wallpaper-ish for me. Then again, I'm a sucker for solid colors!

The beauty shot. Whatta beauty indeed.

This is perhaps my favorite look of them all. Not too pajama-ish and still very boho chic. Loving the rope accent as a belt. So much more personality don't you think?

All in all, the H&M collection for Spring 2011 has defnitely made an impact. And Yes, I am so happy it screams of Spring! Personally prefer spring over summer. Summer for me is a little too laid back and too hot to even bother!

What's your spring scheme?

XOXO,
Erika

Dare to Wear Print (Shoes Special)

Dare to Wear Print (Shoes Special)

The current obsession on prints lives on. I am on an official search for the prettiest printed platforms and flats. Loving those florals and animal prints especially the F21 platforms in the middle.

Are these too much to ask?

NAIL IT! (Maybe Not Quite Literally)

We have always loved nail polish because it could easily make someone's day. We feel like there is this certain rush every time you approach the nail polish counter to pick a nail color that best reflects your mood. Once they are applied on your nails, not only are your hands and feet well-groomed they also serve as instant accessories. Hence, we want to make sure you pick the best color for the right mood, event, and season.

On choosing trendier and on-season hues, it seems practical to buy your own bottle unless its really cheap i.e. below Php100 so as to save you a trip to the nail spa. Otherwise, if it's a standard or a safe color that you could really rely on, go for a bottle of Orly. The brand really offers a wide range of colors that are of quality too. They come up with new collections that are seasonal and shades that could be any girls go-to nail polish. There seems to be no substitute for it unless you have contemplated enough on getting that Chanel bottle which easily robs you Php1500.

For 2011, Spring is in the air and here are the top picks for our nails.

Shoe Report: Spring/Summer 2011

5 Reasons to LOVE THIS SEASON'S shoes

1. Aqua, hot pink, purple, or even orange could be our own color-of-the-moment. And good news is- these can all be seen in this year’s collections. That right pop of color may just be what we need to spruce up our carried-over-from-last-season’s wardrobe.

This is why I want to name my daughter Chloe...

I've always loved the name Chloe although it has now become exceedingly popular.

chloe\ as a girl's name is pronounced KLOH-ee. It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Chloe is "blooming". From Khloe, originally used in the classical period to symbolize the fertility goddess Demeter. May be connected with Chloris. Appears in the Bible, and as a name in literature, especially in the tale of Daphnis and Chloe, set to music by Ravel. Adopted by Puritans in the 17th century.

But the real reason I love the name 'Chloe' is because of these...

Gotta Have Me Some Ellie Saab

I've always loved the designs of Ellie Saab because...

1) They are simply gorgeous!
2) They are very difficult to make.
3) His technique is impeccable.
4) His dresses make the wearer feel feminine yet fatale at the same time.

Won't it be so dreamy to own one? I've always imagined wearing one someday... just because.
I always look at his designs when I have a very formal function to go to and draw inspiration from his cuts and designs.

Maybe I can wear one of these for my Birthday? What a good way to celebrate a quarter of the century away!

I wish you find inspiration in these as much as I have.

Chanel flats took my breath away

Once again Karl Lagerfeld executed a flawless collection of subdued glamour. The pieces in this collection were very luminous, delicate, and charming. The sequined trousers, ballerina inspired dresses, structured jackets, and the brand's signature tweed practically dazzled the Pavillon Cambon Capucines. Hair and make-up were kept soft with a simple french twist and pink lips. However, what really struck me the most are the gorgeous pointed flats that all the models wore! The black ballet flats were pointy and cut straight across with clear ankle straps. I love the fact that the flats were kept very simple and dainty but fascinating at the same time. Sigh, I want a pair and they are almost perfect.

Inspirations from the Runway: SS 2011

Summer will never be complete without vibrant colors! Bold and bright hues are definitely back to spruce up anyone’s wardrobe. Not to mention those crazy and graphic prints could add so much character too.  I believe Filipinos have a more focused attitude now, even on our sense of fashion. We all want to make sure we get our money’s worth and not to compromise the quality, comfort, and style. As the year 2011 enters, we should not play-it-safe or just-go-with-the flow, it is about making a stand and expressing ourselves more through fashion.

Spring/Summer 2011 collections present some trends that may lessen the bland but add more quality and exciting statement pieces in every woman’s closet.
